Priorities Discussed

D - 18 Days

We are just 18 days away from departure date. So, it was meeting day to set priorities, become familiar with our two main destinations (Cairo and Khartoum), and, of course, discuss appropriate fashion and clothing. Our team, pictured here, consists of Kim from North Bay and Nancy, Helen and Gary from Sudbury. We figure we are ready for absolutely everything except the unexpected. Now we digest all the information we have available to us and begin the final count down. Stay tuned.

Research, Research, Research

Travel guides, Google searches and consultations are the order of the day as the Four Westerners approach Departure Day. While there is an abundance of information on Egypt - especially the Cairo area - Sudan is more difficult to find current data and recommendations about. Many are surprized to find that the Lonely Planet Guide for Africa identifies Khartoum as one of the safest cities in Africa. But anticipation is growing and planning continues. Stay tuned.

Getting Ready

On November 15th the four westerners from Northern Ontario will depart for their adventure in Egypt and Sudan. The purpose of the trip is to discuss and monitor YMCA programs in both Cairo and Khartoum as they relate to the YMCA's of Northern Ontario. Transportation is all arranged, accommodation is in hand and packing is......well, packing is being thought of as we do not leave for another 3 weeks. Stay tuned and follow the adventures of the Four Westerners as we travel afar.
